Red Belts; The Symbol of Maturity
The Red Belt is the only belt before black belt; the transition between student and master and as such, it is treated with much respect. The color evokes feelings of intensity, excitement and passion and the techniques that are learned at this level reflect these evocations. Red is also associated with caution and in keeping with that theme, our students learn to use caution and care with these new skills. With all the knowledge that comes with a red belt, we emphasize the importance of using these skills to protect and not to harm others (especially not their siblings!).
The Red Belts Form; Koryo
While Koryo is not a taegeuk form, it is an even greater difficult form that proves a student's experience level. Due to its level of difficulty, we only test our red belts on movements 1-15 and our high red belts are responsible for the entire form.
Red and High Red Board Breaking Techniques
Spin KickFor our Red Belts we teach them how to a break a board using the Spin Kick. The spin kick is an advanced variation of the back kick that aims to confusion the opponent by using different direction than the traditional back kick. As an added treat, we have a video of our original Instructor Clay demonstrating the technique below this paragraph.

Spinning HookFor our High Red Belts, we practice using the Spin Hook Kick. Based on the name, one can surmise its similarity to the spin kick, however it the added hooking motion allows the student to close distance between themselves and their opponent.
